Marketing and branding

The goal of marketing is two-fold; first it aims to notify your would be customers of your service or product. Second, and more importantly, it serves to impress upon them the nature and qualities of you service or product in such a way that makes it appealing for them. Both of those are usually achieved at the same time, with the second and more important one referred to as branding.

Branding acts to associate certain qualities with your service or product. This is achieved in many ways, and allows you to form an emotional attachment between your costumer and your product. When creating an advertisement, this is the main thing to consider – you must make sure the branding is correct, and tie it to your brand values.

Foot in the door

A major part of advertising is making sure you get that food in the door effect. Most people have trained themselves to ignore advertising all together, and before you can sell them something you need to grab their attention. This is the door in the foot effect – you must push into their bubble of privacy and make them acknowledge you. 99% of campaigns fail in this, and this is the best advice we can give you.
